TMC To Hold Lokshahi Din On November 2, Applications Due By October 19
The Thane Municipal Corporation has announced that it will host its upcoming municipal-level Lokshahi Din on Monday, November 2, 2026, to review unresolved citizen grievances. Citizens seeking to present their issues before civic leadership must submit formal representations by October 19, 2026, exactly 15 days ahead of the hearing.
In line with directives from the General Administration Department of the Government of Maharashtra, complaints will not be accepted on the day of the forum. Instead, residents must submit their applications in duplicate beforehand at the Citizens Facilitation Centre, also known as the Nagrik Suvidha Kendra, located at the TMC Headquarters.
Applicants are required to attach a completed Prapatra-1 (B) form with their submissions. This form is available directly to residents at the Citizens Facilitation Centre at the civic headquarters.
The municipal-level forum functions under strict eligibility conditions. It will only accept matters that were previously filed during the Circle-level, or Parimandal, Lokshahi Din and have remained unaddressed for at least one month. Citizens must specifically mention the token number issued during their earlier Circle-level filing on their application.
The civic body highlighted that applications will be rejected if they fail to meet procedural guidelines. Residents must file only one complaint per application form, as submissions containing multiple issues will be disqualified automatically.
The administration clarified that multiple categories of complaints will not be entertained. The forum will not accept matters concerning establishment affairs, cases currently pending before courts or the Lokayukta, or queries falling under the Right to Information Act.
Additionally, applications submitted on the official letterheads of political parties, municipal councillors, or private organisations will be barred. Non-personal general grievances and disputes where a final decision has already been delivered will also be excluded from the session.
