Two Palghar Medical College Staffers Suspended Over Forced Namaz Allegations

Two staff members of a private medical college in Posheri village of Wada taluka, located in Maharashtra's Palghar district, have been suspended after a female student was allegedly subjected to ragging and forced to perform namaz.

The incident occurred on Sunday night inside the hostel premises of the private medical institute. In the wake of the allegations, the college administration took action by suspending two of its staffers, who have been identified as a hostel warden and a teacher.

The situation escalated on campus, triggering tension among the students and staff. The incident also drew protests from right-wing groups who gathered to demonstrate against the alleged ragging. To prevent any law and order disturbance or further escalation, police personnel were deployed across the campus.

Following the incident, the local police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Monday night. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, with early findings currently being analyzed by the police.

The deployment of police forces at the Posheri village campus continues as authorities monitor the situation to ensure peace is maintained.
