Mumbai Lake Levels Reach 95.87 Per Cent With 13.87 Lakh Million Litres

Water levels across the seven reservoirs supplying drinking water to Mumbai reached 95.87 per cent of their total live storage capacity on Tuesday morning, according to data from the Hydraulic Engineer's Department recorded at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.

As of 6 am on Tuesday, September 1, the seven lakes collectively held 13,87,618 million litres of water.

The current water stock is slightly lower compared to the corresponding period in previous years. During the same period last year, the city's reservoirs held 13,92,756 million litres of water, representing 96.23 per cent of total live capacity.

The recorded levels are also lower than the figures reported in 2024, when the lake system held 14,01,649 million litres, accounting for 96.84 per cent of the total live storage capacity.
