Mumbai Police Bust Interstate Mule Account Racket in Dongri, 3 Arrested

The cyber cell of the Dongri Police in Mumbai has busted an interstate racket supplying mule bank accounts for cyber fraud, arresting three persons from Madhya Pradesh after discovering that more than Rs 125 crore was routed through 17 accounts in just one to two months.
The three arrested accused have been identified as Nikhil Kamalkumar Jaiswani, 26, Rahul Shyamlal Paraswani, 32, and Jay Bihari Lal Tiryani, 26, all hailing from Madhya Pradesh. Police officials confirmed that five additional suspects linked to the syndicate have been identified, and efforts are currently underway to trace and apprehend them.
According to police investigators, the interstate network was involved in providing bank accounts to channel illicit funds generated through various cyber fraud operations conducted under the guise of online gaming, cricket betting, and online casinos.
During the investigation, police identified a total of 110 such mule bank accounts created for the operation. Out of these, 17 bank accounts have been directly linked to 38 cybercrime complaints and registered offences across multiple states.
The probe established links between these accounts and cybercrime cases registered in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, and West Bengal.
Explaining the modus operandi, investigators revealed that the syndicate systematically targeted financially vulnerable individuals. The accused lured them by offering small sums of money in exchange for allowing bank accounts to be opened in their names.
Once the bank accounts were officially set up, the accused seized full possession of the account holders' documentation and access tools, including passbooks, debit cards, cheque books, and registered mobile SIM cards. The gang then utilized these compromised accounts to receive and transfer funds generated through cyber fraud schemes across the country.
