Mumbra Markets See Surge in Festive Preparations Ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi

Preparations for the upcoming occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi have gathered momentum across Mumbra in Thane, with residents finalizing religious programs and visiting local markets for festive decorations and merchandise.

Neighborhoods across the locality are seeing brisk activity at commercial stalls as shoppers purchase Islamic flags, traditional skull caps, banners, and decorative illumination. Homes, shops, madrasas, and mosques throughout Mumbra are being decorated with LED string lights, decorative bunting, and intricate lanterns.

Local stalls and shops are stocking a variety of flags, ranging from small hand-held versions for children to large polyester and satin banners featuring Arabic calligraphy and depictions of the Gumbad-e-Khizra. Shopkeepers have also reported high interest in miniature flags designed for cars and motorcycles, along with decorative badges and traditional clothing.

Alongside market activity, organizers across Mumbra have scheduled daily religious assemblies spanning from the 1st to the 12th of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal. Local mosques and madrasas are preparing morning and evening sessions focused on the life, guidance, and teachings of the Prophet.

Vendors in the area have noted that business picks up significantly in the weeks leading up to the main day of observance. Mohammad Zubair, a flag and merchandise vendor operating in Kausa Market, said that demand for polyester and satin calligraphy flags increases annually as residents prepare to decorate lanes, homes, and vehicles for the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad and is observed on the 12th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal. The occasion is traditionally commemorated through spiritual assemblies, the recitation of Naats, charitable deeds to support the poor, and decorative lighting across public and private spaces.
