Western Railway to Implement New Suburban Timetable in Mumbai From September 1

Western Railway has announced a revised suburban train timetable for Mumbai, scheduled to come into effect from September 1, 2026. The adjustments are designed to meet passenger travel demand and improve convenience across the suburban network.

Under the revised schedule, the total count of daily suburban services will remain unchanged at 1,414 trains. Western Railway confirmed that the overall operational volume will be maintained while specific route timings and service allocations are adjusted.

As part of the changes, the railway authorities are introducing six new local services. This includes two additional services operating in the Up direction and four new services running in the Down direction.

To balance the operational schedule alongside the new additions, Western Railway will simultaneously withdraw six existing suburban services across the network.

An official statement released on Monday noted that the timetable revision focuses on better accommodating daily commuter requirements. Passengers traveling on the Western Railway suburban section in Mumbai have been advised to check the revised schedule and take note of the altered timings prior to their commute.
