Woman killed and another injured in Navi Mumbai highway motorcycle crash

A woman was killed and another sustained severe injuries on Sunday afternoon after a motorcycle struck them on the Mumbai-Goa highway in Navi Mumbai.

The incident took place on the Mumbai-bound carriageway of the highway. The two women were attempting to cross the active lanes of traffic when a motorcycle rider crashed directly into them.

The impact of the collision resulted in the immediate death of one of the women, who died on the spot. The other woman survived the crash but suffered grievous injuries.

Following the accident, the injured woman was transported to a hospital, where she is currently undergoing medical treatment.

Local police officials have detained the accused biker involved in the collision. Authorities have also registered a formal case regarding the incident as they look into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
